Hi There. I just downloaded the latest version of Audacity and the tracks seem to be locked. In other words I cannot move tracks up and down the timeline. I have noticed there is a dark gray outside the tracks now. How do I uNlock them so that I can freely move tracks? HELP!!
Just a guess here. Maybe the tracks are sync-locked.
That doesn’t seem to be the issue.
How are you trying to move the tracks? By right-clicking and selecting Move Track Up or Move Track Down, or are you dragging them with the mouse?
Lol I apologize I thought you were responding to a post I just posted. I solved that original issue, but maybe you have an answer to my new issue! This was the post that I did.
Hi there, I am having issues with selecting a range to edit using the cursor. It seems that there is a difference from what my experience has been in the past. My issue is that the area I want to select, for example delete, is locked in and I cannot edit a portion that is more on a macro level, in other words shorter. Has there been a modification in regards to how Audacity functions? Not sure I made my point clearly. It seems the shortest amount of time I can select is a quarter of a second, again lets say I wanted to modify a moment in the timeline that is tighter than that (delete, alter volume etc.). I cannot, highlight a length is time that is shorter than that. Strange.
In other words the area that I want to highlight in blue is limited to one quarter of a second and not an amount of time that is tighter.
