I have a Stanton legacy T.92 USB turntable connected by a USB-B to USB-A data cable to the #8 connector on the back of the PC. The PC is a Dell legacy XP-8700. I tried several legacy versions of Audacity, but could not get the audio to play out of my loudspeakers. It does appear to be recording tracks, but there is no sound upon playback. Please help.
If the sound does not reach Audacity or your compputer’s loudspeakers, it is not an Audacity problem. It is a problem of your computer or your computer’s settings.
Have you granted access to Audacity to “Microphone” (or however this is called in Windows)?
Have you selected the correct sound source in Audacity?
On Windows, plugging in a USB device may have changed the default playback device to USB, rather than speakers/headphones, see … FAQ:Playback - Audacity Manual
