I recently got a Fender Mustang LT25 amp. I downloaded Audacity 2.1.0 for Windows, but could not configure it to recognize the amp. I also downloaded the Fender driver at http://www.fender.com/support/articles/fender-universal-asio-drive<http://www.fender.com/support/articles/fender-universal-asio-drive. (I understand Audacity needs a proprietary asio driver.) However, Windows 10 would not let me use the Fender driver. It insisted I had the “most current” driver available, which looked to be a generic windows audio driver. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to make Audacity work with a Mustang LT25. Thanks!

Audacity is not an ASIO application.* Audacity works with regular Windows drivers.
I’d be shocked if the amplifier doesn’t work with regular Windows drivers, and it probably works with the Microsoft-supplied drivers so you may not need to download any drivers from Fender. (I’m still looking for the user manual online.)
…No. It looks like your amplifier is NOT COMPATIBLE with Audacity. The manual says:
No external driver is needed to connect to an Apple computer. To connect to a Windows-based computer, the user must download the ASIO driver setup with Fender Mustang device, available at
BTW - There is a driver called ASIO4ALL, but don’t bother with that. ASIO4ALL allows an ASIO application to work with a regular Windows device, but it doesn’t work the other way around.

- There are licensing issues that prevent Audacity distributed shipped with ASIO support. If you are a programmer, there is a way to compile an ASIO version of Audacity for yourself.
