I’m trying to download an old version of Audacity from FossHub (where the team says the old versions are supposed to be), but their links just redirect me to the Audacity home page, where absolutely none of the old versions are.
Is anyone else having this issue? Is this an oversight that needs to be fixed?
FossHub has been dead for more than a year now. When I tried to upload 3.7.5 back on May ‘25, the partners’ login was disabled, and I never received a reply from them.
Just click to expand the older versions section and select the desired release from the dropdown menu. (Note: this applies to versions prior to the MuseGroup acquisition, though I can upload newer ones as well if needed).
qubodup – You are right, they most likely will not reply. I completely agree with your recommendation; the official download links should definitely be updated to point to a working repository.
@kryksyh – For some context, I am the former founder of FossHub. I left the project in September 2022 and have no longer been affiliated with them since then, so I cannot speak on their behalf. However, just like you, I was shocked and surprised to learn that the partners’ login was disabled.
To help out the community, we have uploaded all the 2.0.0+ versions on dAppCDN. Please let me know if you’d like me to provide you with access to our platform. My only goal here is to ensure the Audacity Team retains access and control over their own files. I had a great relationship with the team for over a decade, and I simply want to provide a reliable alternative now that the older versions are no longer available.
Let me know if you want me to set up an account for you!
