Can't Copy and Paste

Normally I will highlight a track with CMD + A, copy with CMD + C and paste with CMD + V. Nothing pastes over. If I try using the edit menu, the same thing happens. I see the highlighted section but nothing pastes over. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m trying to combine multiple flac files into one large file. I was trying to copy one file by highlighting, copying then pasting into another flac file but nothing will paste over.

Audacity does not work directly with audio files.

Try this:

  1. Launch Audacity
  2. “File menu > Import> Audio” and select the first FLAC file
  3. “File menu > Import> Audio” and select the second FLAC file (if both of the FLAC files are in the same folder on your computer, you could select both files at the same time).

You now have two tracks in the Audacity project.

  1. Double click on one track to select it.
  2. “Cmd + X” to cut the selected audio
  3. Click on the other track
  4. Press “K” to jump to the end of the track
  5. “Cmd + V” to paste

You should now have one of the audio clips at the end of the other.

  1. “File menu > Export > Export Audio” and select the export options that you want.

I tried that; it opened one file with four channels.

Thanks, but we’re talking about two (or possibly three) distinctly different issues.

Really? I thought that you had two FLAC files and you wanted to join them end to end to create one large FLAC file. :confused:
