Can'r run the software

I am currently using MacOS 10.15 (Catalina) and I understand that it does not support the newest version of Audacity. However in the Audacity website under downloads Mac section ( https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ ), it says that “the newer versions are not supported on Catalina, hence they provide the older version (v2.1.1)” I’ve tried downloading in hopes of able to run the software but I can’t even though the article provided us the older version

Catalina does not fully support any version of Audacity, though Audacity 2.3.3 can run with a bit of help.

First, uninstall your current version of Audacity (drag the entire application to the recycle bin). - old versions will not work on Catalina.

Then get Audacity 2.3.3 via the links on the Audacity website: Audacity ® | Download for Mac OS
Carefully follow the instructions on that page to install Audacity,

When it is installed, you should see an Audacity icon in the Dock. Right click on it and select “Open”. Catalina may not want to run Audacity, but tell it that you’re the boss and run it anyway.

Once you’ve got Audacity to open, quit Audacity (completely). Easiest way to do that is “File menu > Quit”.

Then use this workaround to run Audacity: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/audacity-2-3-3-under-macos-10-15-catalina/54279/1

The next Audacity release will be supported by Catalina, so you won’t need these workarounds. The next release is scheduled for early next month.
