Cannot save eq presets, no defaults

My first post, just learning Audacity. I Cannot save eq presets, nor see any defaults. Checked my files, and there is a folder for presets, but nothing in it even after saving several test presets. Please be very explicit If you respond, I am new to this.

Which version of Audacity? (look in “Help menu > About Audacity”)
For the current “2.3.1” version of Audacity, this should work: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/equalization.html#settings
