Cannot Rename Tracks When Multiple Projects Are Open

If you have 2 projects open, go to project #2, and go back to project #1, you cannot rename any track names in project #1. You have to add new tracks to project #1 to be able to rename tracks again.

This behavior has been present for several years now.

Macbook Pro M1 (OS 26.5.2); Audacity 3.7.8

I can’t reproduce this.

  • Start Audacity
  • Import audio creating a track
  • New Project
  • Import audio creating a track
  • switch to first project
  • click on the three dots above the Solo button: context menu opens
  • select Rename Track: type in a new track name
  • Click OK: track is renamed
