I am using Windows 10 and Audacity 2.3.2. I just bought an Audio-technical usb turntable, and cannot get it to play or record on my computer. I have a microphone, and can get it to record, then play. I have played with the phone/line switch on the back of the turntable, no help. Have connected to several usb ports just in case that was the problem, no help. I can sometimes see the mic meters moving, but no sound and nothing records. I’ve tried all the mic settings, external usb mic works (can record my voice), but not the turntable/album. I’m new to both Audacity and a usb turntable, so I’m sure I’m doing something wrong or have a setting wrong, but I DON’T KNOW WHAT??
Plug in the USB before starting Audacity. Select the USB device as your Recording Device. It may say “USB codec” or “USB… Something”. If you have a USB mic (or other USB audio devices) connected it may take trial-and-error to “find” the turntable.
Select your regular speakers/headphones as your Playback Device and enable Software Playthrough so you can hear what you’re recording.

That only affects the “RCA” analog outputs, not the USB.

If the meters are moving you should be able to record, but you may be recording from the microphone or something else.
