Can not hear Audacity on Smart TV connected to Laptop

Dear Moderator,

I am using Audacity 2.0.3 which I obtained via a zip file.
I am using a laptop: Lenovo Windows 7, 64 bit

I have my laptop connected to a Samsung Smart TV. I can not hear the audio playback in my Samsung Smart Tv when I am editing a file in Audactiy. However, I can hear all other sounds when through my Samsung TV, ie from videos or whatever I am playing on my laptop.

How can I fix this?

Use the Audacity Device Toolbar and switch playback to the TV. I’m sure it’s not going to say “Samsung,” so you’ll have to figure out which USB Device it is. USB Audio Codec?

Make sure you plug in the TV before you start Audacity.

That version is very old. The current Audacity version is 2.1.1 ( http://audacityteam.org/download/windows ).
