Can I save/export audio at the higher playback speed I selected?

I increased the playback speed of an audio by 50%, and I would like to save or export at that higher speed. Can this be done? I tried exporting to an mp3, but this did not work.

You have to use the “Change speed” effect to permanently change speed (and pitch*) …

[* If you don’t want to change the pitch, just speed, use “Change Tempo”].

Bear in mind MP3 is a lossy format, if you plan to change the speed back at some point in the future I would save as WAV or FLAC format, which are lossless.
