Can I restore AUP3 after deleting it from the trash can?
If it’s the current show and you didn’t close Audacity yet, you can Edit > UNDO your way back out to the show on the timeline. If you cleared the AUP3 from the trash can and you closed Audacity, I think that’s the end of the world.
Do you still have all the pieces you used to make the show? Could you make the show again, if you had to?
That’s one way. In Windows, there used to be a way to recover deleted files. When Windows deletes a file, it doesn’t actually delete the file. It deletes the name and location of all the fragmenents. The fragments are still there. If you have an large, active machine, there will be thousands of fragments and this won’t work.

Despite Recuva (free) stating “justatest.aup3” was in a “poor” state, it was recoverable, (YMMV).
It was only 30 seconds long, and I recuva’d it immediately after emptying it from the trash can.
