Can I add ISRC codes to metadata?

I’d like to use Audacity to edit the metadata genre if my .wav files. If I do so, will it overwrite (or clear out) the ISRC codes? I don’t want to remove ISRCs.

I am using Windows 10 and Audacity v. 2.1.2

Probably… Do you see the ISRC code in the metadata editor? You can try it… When you export from Audacity it creates a new file so you’re not directly editing an existing file. Certain tags are not copied-over to the new file. Audacity doesn’t keep embedded artwork, some people have trouble with various tag formats.

A regular tag editor like MP3tag should work because it only edits the tags you change and it doesn’t re-write/re-create the whole file. (MP3Tag works on most formats, not just MP3/ID3.)
