I still don’t understand why this feature was removed.
It’s a pain to manipulate files now. I’ll stay on an older version to keep this functionality.
Hope you can bring back this !

The developers are now working on “Audacity 4” which uses a different GUI toolkit (“Qt”) from previous versions (WxWidgets). Because of this, the way that GUI interactions are implemented will be different in Audacity 4 from previous versions. I think we need to wait and see how conveniently vertical zooming works in Audacity 4 (when available), and then take it from there, as any changes made now will be lost in the change from WxWidgets to Qt.

Agreed wholeheartedly! “Replaced Advanced Vertical Zooming with new always-on behavior” they say… but where is it “always-on”? Far as I can tell, it’s gone and for no good reason. There was NOTHING complicated about it before.
I’m still using 3.1.3 on my other PCs. Now I know why.
