I have found that if I use noise reduction to remove breaths BEFORE I apply the acx macro, it doesn’t change the peaks too much. Is that okay to do? It sounds fine to me, but I might be missing something. Thank you.
If it sounds OK and it passes ACX-Check, then you should be good to go.
Any way to remove breath sounds at the microphone? Are you too close? There’s a trick where you put the microphone off center (B) instead of right in front. Most mouth noises go straight-on. This may also let you get slightly closer and increase the volume and lessen electronic noise.
We try and keep post production processing down to a minimum. If you do anything wrong, ACX may hear it and reject your post. They assume if they find any errors, you messed up something and stop looking.
If they reject a chapter in the middle of the book you’re now stuck with trying to make all your chapters match—another ACX requirement.
