The scroll bar at the bottom of the window only works effectively with the mouse. In Audacity 3, you could click on the scroll bar and it would move the window forward on frame instead of where you click the mouse. This was very helpful in doing detail editing since you could visually examine one window at a time instead of a semi-moving window with the mouse sliding.
It appears that Audacity 4 is not respecting the macOS Setting under Appearance > Click the scroll bar to
- Jump to the next page
- Jump to the spot that’s clicked.
Your correct, audacity is not mirroring the settings in appearance.
