Bluetooth headphones not recognised on Zorin 17 ( Ubuntu variant)

I can play audio using other software and I can set Bluetooth as the default output. But Audacity 3.4.2 does not show the bluetooth device for output.

Any suggestions please?

Assuming that your computer’s sound system is the same as Ubuntu, select “default” as the audio output in Audacity, then use the computer system “Audio Mixer” to select the output device.

Default does not work in Audacity although the Bluetooth output is set on the desktop and other software uses the Bluetooth speakers correctly. Audacity always plays via an HDMI output to screen speakers or if settings are changed it will also play via Intel drivers to an internal speaker.
