Hi there, I have a blue snowball Ice microphone and I sit quite close to it if I try to record. It records too low in certain software like audacity or sound recorder, but when I record my voice on a site like vocaroo it records at normal to high volume at the same distance. Why is this? Please read the pink panel at the top of this page and also tell us exactly which recording settings you have turned up. You can read the Snowball iCE Manual :: English to find how to set up the mic in Windows.
In Audacity, you should open Device Toolbar and choose the ICE as the recording device.
