Been doing this for ages for me and others as well, but never found a good way to get the order of the songs when I put them on a USB drive.
I know you can manually change the 01 or 02 at the beginning of each song, but is there a less tedious method ?
A playlist usually plays in-order per the playlist file (i.e. M3U file) or your player software should be able to sort by artist/album/title or shuffle, etc.
If you are playing on a car stereo the “features” may be limited (and it may not even recognize a playlist).
No actually its for use on my CD player which has a USB input, and also a small Yamaha Head unit that I use with some smaller speakers in my bedroom.
The best way depends on where you want to play them, but in MusConv discussions the usual recommendation is this: create playlists in a proper music manager (MusicBee, MediaMonkey, or iTunes), then export them as M3U playlists or sync them directly to your device. If you’re moving playlists between platforms or backing them up, MusConv is useful for recreating the same playlist structure across services without manually rebuilding everything.

It depends on the features of the device so check the user manual.
Or probably the most foolproof method is mentioned in the 1st post - By default they will usually play in “alphabetical order” so start the filename with a number:
01 White Christmas
02 Jingle Bells
03 Deck The Halls
