so the best thing about Audacity 4 is the unistall option in the start menu
why would you want to keep your files in some dodgy cloud
why is the project background now black
where the hell are all the tools and plugins I use all the time
why does the whole thing look like a gimmicky gadget
out of 10 maybe 2 and thats being generous
sorry guy and gals but you have really screwed up a great program
but I guess it save me to tedium of updating again

While I agree that Audacity 4 has several teething issues, which should’ve meant that they delayed the release, I wouldn’t go as far as uninstalling, just yet!

Why would you not use capitals at the beginning of a sentence? You can always change the theme back to light!
Most likely in the same spot, but now categorised under folders.
Because you don’t like the new look! I have seen screenshots of a few audio editors, and they appear to use different colour schemes to easily separate the tracks. But you don’t gel with that, so you can always change the theme back to classic!

I just deleted it off my machine. It’s actually less stable now than Beta 2 was. I didn’t even get any editing done. All I tried to do was set my shortcut keys. The first time it didn’t take. The second time, the program crashed. 
Maybe someday Audacity will be usable again, but for now, it’s a waste of my time. I’ll stick with Tenacity. At least it’s stable.

How? looking in preferences and view and not finding a way after 5 mins, I gave up
Finding no way in first 5 mins stopped looking
Too frustrated with the whole look of the thing and wasting time trying to make it look like a tool I would want to use, that I made minimal effort to find them. Didn’t even try using/installing my macros as figured nothing would work properly
The reason I use Audacity and not a different editor 1 is cost but 2 is mainly I know my way around it. I don’t want to learn a new program/app, Ive been using it for about 20 years to make radio programs I’m happy with the way it is, works, and looks.
with Audacity 4 Id have to spend time learning where everything is and what the new gimmicks do which more than likely I wont ever use, whilst this wasted time could be used to do something useful like make an hour or 2 of radio show content.
I am actually a visual artist with ADHD and the look of Audacity 4 is visually extremely confusing, jumbled and difficult to separate the different parts of the interface
As well as aesthetically, ugly as fuck
and nothing there makes it look any different or in any way like 3 or even makes the black go light
why?
it still looks confused and terrible and dark

Hey Macr are you a developer or contributor? If so, I really would love for you to check out my recent post. Funny how the guy that has “the squeaky wheel, gets the grease” gets your reply, but me who is praising 4.0 has no mentions or forwarded to the developers or not even a reply.
