Best ANC Headphones, Expert recommendations

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to upgrade to a pair of the best ANC headphones and could use some recommendations from people who have actually used them. My main priorities are great noise cancellation, all-day comfort, good sound quality, and solid battery life. I’ll mostly be using them while working, traveling, and occasionally listening to music for a few hours at a time.

I’ve been looking at the Sony WH-1000XM6 and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra, but I’m open to other suggestions if you’ve found something better. Which ANC headphones have been the most worth it for you, and what do you like (or dislike) about them?

Active Noise Cancelling headphones are not relevant to audio editing, which is the function of this forum.

We can always make it relevant.

For instance, I have noise cancelling headphones. Cheap ones. I rarely use them with my field recorders, and when I do, I turn the noise cancellation off. I don’t want that to mask the live audio that I am recording. It won’t affect the recording, but I won’t be hearing things the way they actually sound in real time.
