Greetings. Newbie here. Apology if this question is old hat.
Trying to preset my software to get ready to run a test session to start the Audacity learning curve. Oh what I would give for an old Tascam 8 track if I had it to give.
How do I assign the Behringer x32 select channels to the tracks I’ve set up in Audacity?
I will be using usb out from my x32 into the x32 software interface into Audacity. Or is that to much? Should or could I just go from board into Audacity directly?
Audacity does not have “channel mapping”.
If the X32 provides multiple channels to Audacity, then input 1 of the device goes to the first audio channel, input 2 to the second, and so on.
If the X32 appears to Audacity as multiple stereo devices and does not expose a multi-channel device, then Audacity will only be able to record 2 channels at a time.
If you require channel mapping, or if there is no “multi-channel device”, then you will need to use a full featured DAW (such as Reaper, Cubase, Sonar, …) rather than Audacity.
