Basic Navigation (a minor bug?)

Hi, simple user here (again)! After a break I’m starting up again with 4.0, and having to seemingly relearn basic navigation again! Various viewing, and in particular for this post, moving to start and end of track seems to be a little missing?! I see now that the old toggle-view and zoom-to-fit and zoom-to-selection buttons are there but just not enabled on the control bar. I’d suggest those should be default. That took a little while to figure out!

And I see in the keyboard shortcuts there is an entry for move-to-start and move-to-end of selection but just not defined. I defined them to the older “J” and “K” keys like in 3.0, but ran into a quirk with it (for this post). I kept selecting the header bar of the track, and the whole track highlights as if it’s all selected. And I couldn’t get my J and K to work. I finally found that if I manually select a section of track, then J and K worked. So I directly selected the whole track with cmd-A, and J and K now worked. It seems that clicking the track bar does indeed select the whole track for other functions(*) - but the move behavior with J/K doesn’t seem to recognize that it’s all selected. I’m wondering if that’s a minor bug.

*(There’s no highlight difference in the waveform between clicking the track bar and doing a cmd-A. And after clicking in the waveform and then clicking the track bar, I tried an effects function, and that recognized the whole track was selected. So they both seem to be the same for selecting all. Just not in this J/K move instance?)

If it matters, this is MacOS with M-series processor.
