When I try to run the “open /Applications/Audacity/Audacity.app/Contents/MacOS/Audacity” in Terminal, I get a “Bad CPU type” error. I’m running Audacity version 2.1.1. and the OS is MacOS Catalina 10.15.1. Any thoughts?
Audacity version 2.2.1 is a 32-bit app.
Catalina does not support 32-bit apps.
You need to install the current version of Audacity, which is a 64-bit app. Follow the links on the Audacity website to download the current version: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/
