Backup of the file, if it’s already corrupted

How do you download a backup of the file, if it’s already corrupted? I keep deleting those extra files, but it’s not helping anything. :frowning: Just lost several days’ worth of work…

I don’t think I use a sync client, but this is happening to me. I just lost so much work, and I’m at my wit’s end. I don’t know how to get my work back, and I don’t know how to prevent it from happening again. I was right in the middle of working when it just crashed out of nowhere!

I have no idea what you are talking about. Please start a new thread and start from the beginning, rather than at the end.

I’m looking for solutions (about to give up), and since it’s always best to first search for others who have experienced the same thing, I landed on this thread. If I had just started a new one, people would criticize me for that.

Anyway, I appreciate you passing on what the devs said about this problem, but I think it’s also important to add that they’re missing a LOT of the issue with this response. Important to add this in this thread, where this response was shared. It’s amazing how many people experience this, and more people will continue landing on this page with the same problem.

This discussion is beyond the scope of this forum. The developers have made their decision. If you have issues with this, please post directly here: Corrupt project preceded by aup3-wal file · Issue #2140 · audacity/audacity · GitHub

If you have a corrupted file, see: Corrupt or Otherwise Broken Audacity Project Recovery

If you have a backup of a project and you are getting interference from your backup service because of the file name, I would think that you can simply rename the file. Everything you need should be in the one .aup3 file.
