Automatically fade out then fade a section

Hi everyone,
So i’m doing voiceover for podcasts and I was wondering if there’s any way I can improve my current workflow :

  • I split the part on which i’m will do the voiceover into its own section
  • I use the enveloppe tool to fade out the beginning of the section, then fade in the end, all manually, which make it difficult to stay consistent in terms of decibels across the whole podcast.

Here’s a screenshot : https://ibb.co/y4xBP4x

Is there any way I can turn this into a macro / use a built-in effect to speed up the process and have a consistent level / duration of fades ?

Thanks !

Yes. I can’t say I’ve ever done this myself, but you can test out Macro Commands by doing View > Extra Menu, then Extra > Tools > Envelope Tool to turn on Envelope Mode. Extra > Scriptables I > Set Envelope will set an envelope point. Extra > Scriptables II > Get Info > Envelopes will show you all current envelope points and Extra > Tools > Selection Tool will return things to the way they were.

Personally, I prefer the Fading effects and Auto-Duck.
