Auto-adjusting record level

I was recording a 3-way Zoom call today and noticed that the recording volume slider was moving lower and lower on its own. I would put it back to about 60% and it would start moving lower again. The problem is that different speakers were being heard at different levels. How do I stop the slider from moving?

I forgot to mention that I am using version 2.1.1.

Check the Zoom call settings, and the Windows Sound Control Panel settings.
Audacity doesn’t have any ability to change the recording level.
