AUP3 file not opening due to Audacity saying to use File > Open instead of importing whilst already using File > Open

Pretty much the title. It could be that the .aup3 is corrupt (which I don’t think so, because earlier it worked fine), or the problem could be that the file or the program suddenly stopped working. I have not tried restarting my device (which is stupid of me, I’m gonna try that after posting), or reinstalling Audacity.

I am on the built-in ChromeOS Linux terminal. ChromeOS is on the newest version. I did restart the virtual Linux machine multiple times, but it keeps giving me the error.

(I have made a recording, but the file is 5.8 MB too big.)

UPDATE: I have since posting restarted my device as well, but that did not change anything. I will try to use the file on other devices to see if it’s my device or the file.

The size alone tells me that is not a usable Audacity project file. For example, I have a 50-second ringtone that is 18.3MB.
