I’m using the current version of Audacity 2.4.2
I can record and playback fine, but the wave form/audio track is not moving with it, in both actions, making editing nearly impossible. All was fine till today…of course.

Either tick “auto-scroll if head unpinned” in Audacity preferences …

I’m noticing the post above… showing an OLDER version of Audacity. I’m using the new version 3.2.2.
I also tried playing the track in my RX Standard workstation (I can cut/paste). The same problem occured in the playback there… indicating to me that it is related to the recording. It’s so odd… It was frozen there and then… after about 10 minutes, it played via my computer playback… then… automatically switched to my AI playback / headphones.
I’m confused. Are you referring to a new problem or one that has been continuing to plague you for two years?
Never mind - I hadn’t seen your subsequent post in a different thread which I hope clarifies things…
Different but related issue: This occured just before and after installing the new version of Audacity: The recording stops … sometimes more than once in a single recording. I’m also getting a crunchy and then whining sound as I playback. When I rewind the playback a bit, the sound is gone, so I don’t think it is in the recording itself… but happening at the same time as the curser freezing problem makes me think it’s all related.
Any new thoughts about this?
