I downloaded Audacity 2.1.1 and have set the mic input to the ATR option, but no sound is recording from the mic. The only thing that registers with Audacity is a click when I turn the mic off or on. Audio-Technica has looked at the mic and says it is working fine. What am I doing wrong with my Audacity setup?
You connect the microphone and turn it on. The little light on the side comes on, right? You plug your headphones or earbuds into the socket on the bottom of the microphone and you can hear yourself (volume control on the bottom)?
Start or restart Audacity. Use the Device Toolbar to select the microphone.

Start a recording. Do you get the bouncing sound meter and blue waves? Doesn’t matter if you can hear anything.

Yes, when I connect the microphone to the USB port (I have tried two different ports) and turn it on, the blue light comes on.
When I plug my headphones into the bottom of the microphone, I cannot hear anything I say into the microphone. (Again, Audio-Technica says the microphone works fine.)
When I start a recording, I get nothing but a blue line. The only thing that makes it bounce is when I turn the microphone on or off.
