Audio sounds perfect in Audacity but Distorts when Exporting

I have created an audio with music, my voice, various sounds effects and it sounds great in audacity but the moment I export it, it distorts. I have tried troubleshooting it and changing the the quality, switching between WAV and MP3, normalization, limiter, etc. and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any other ideas? Please help me to fix this.

Mixing is done by summation so the exported mix is probably “trying” to go over 0dB and clipping (distorting).

One solution is to export as 32-bit float WAV (which can go over 0dB). Then open the floating-point WAV and run the Normalize or Amplify effect to bring the volume down to a “safe” level, and re-export as your desired format.

…Don’t keep the floating-point file that goes over 0dB because the DAC will clip if it’s played at “full digital volume”.
