I was recently forced to upgrade to 2.2 and have been having issues with the audio being padded post production. Most of my podcasts are 2 minute recaps using 3 tracks, audio, music background, and an outtro. When I export to mp3 the file shows as a 2 minute file, but when it’s uploaded to a feed it has a 8 or 10 minute silence at the end. I’ve checked the zero buffer on the preferences and it’s set to 1. Is the something else I’m overlooking. I’ve never had this issue with previous versions of audacity.
We are going to need some more details… Maybe not all of the details, but a summery of what kind if cutting/pasting/mixing, etc., that you’re doing.

Where are you seeing “2-minutes”?

And, before you upload? Do you see (and hear) the silence if you re-open the MP3 in Audacity? How about if you play it in Windows Media Player?
If your original MP3 is messed-up, have you tried exporting to WAV?

The length of the audio file in the properties section shows the length as 02:00 Minutes. However, when its uploaded to the podcaster program there is a padding automatically added from the audio file to make it 8-10 minutes long. I know that on Adobe Audition there a selector when exporting to MP3 that allows you to remove the padding. This was never an issue in previous versions of Audacity, but with the newest version it seems to be.

I have opened it in VLC, WMP, and Groove. There is no additional padding.
I will export to WAV and see what happens. Thanks.
