Audio Issues - Recording on Audacity 3.7.5

Hey folks…this is my first post.

I had downloaded Audacity and was using it to record episodes for a podcast. I did a couple, and there was absolutely no issues…but then a few days ago, went in to do my 3rd, and wasn’t until after I was done recording, realized that the sound quality was really bad.

The first recordings were perfectly fine…and I didn’t change anything in terms of settings or anything. They sounded clear and there were no issues at all. However, for this third one, when I went to play it back, it sounded as if I’m on a speakerphone like 10 feet away and there was a lot of “noise” in the recording as well..kinda like a humming noise…

Don’t know what the issue is…please advise if any info out there. Thanks in advance!

If your computer has done a Windows update, or you have used it for a Teams or Zoom session, the sound drivers have probably been modified to use Windows sound enhancement. Disabling this will get your original audio back again.
