I’m having an issue with recording directly from a browser or drum program to Audacity. Whenever I record, there is some sound getting through to Audacity, but it it trashed and sounds like it’s being recorded by some other device setting instead of direct. I’ve tried multiple audio configurations within Audacity, but no good result. I’ve been using Audacity for 12 years and this is the first time this is occurring. Windows 10, Audacity 3.2.1.
Try recording with WASAPI using the Speaker (loopback) device. Make sure you have nothing else playing on your speakers - particularly check that you do not have listen to this device checked: Hold down the Windows key and press “R”, then type in “mmsys.cpl”. Then select the Recording tab, your microphone, Properties, Listen (make sure Listen to this device is not checked).
