Audio channels look different

I am recording in two different channels and in previous versions of Audacity, both channels looked the same. Now they look different and there is a lot of drag and drop that I accidentally press. If you look in the image I added, you see that the color coding is different. The thick lines on the top view get more and more narrow as time passes. Does that change the sound?

Thank you so much! Now I just wonder how I change the top channel so that it “is light blue” all the way. When I try to grab it I get a “forbidden” icon.
