Audacity won't get past start.

Mac OS X 10.6.8. Just downloaded latest version of Audacity (25th March 2014). When I launch it, it appears to start then displays a message about not locating Nyquist files followed by the rotating rainbow wheel. I can only get out of this by forcing quit.

Running from Applications not from the DMG

Please read: Installation: Do NOT run Audacity from the DMG!!! . The instructions also say not to separate the Audacity application from its folder.
