Audacity with seperatly installed lame library

Hi there

I’ve install Audacity 2.0.2 on Mac OSX 10.8.2 and tried to use my separately via homebrew installed lame library 3.99.5 for mp3 export.

However Audacity complains when I give it the path to the libmp3lame.dylib library: It says “Cannot read library.”

When I use the library recommend by Audacity (lame 3.98…) it works. Why can’t I use the newer version 3.99.5?
