So, I’ve tried about everything that I know of to fix this problem. I really need help.
I have a Scarlett Solo 4th gen. I have a RODE NT1 condenser mic. On the audio setup on Audacity, I have changed the host, playback device and recording device multiple times. The only thing that works when it comes to picking up my voice is the Internal Microphone Array, which is through the computer and I don’t want that. When I tap my mic I can hear it, when I speak into my mic, I can hear myself through my headphones. But Audacity will not pick up my voice. Only static sometimes with a long line across my screen (no waves) but most times, I get an error message saying it can’t record at all. As for settings on my computer, I have turned everything on, my mic, my speakers (Scarlett 4th gen) including through the privacy and security section… everything is on. I have restarted my computer multiple times, unplugged the mic from my Scarlett… unplugged back in… closed audacity… opened it up. Nothing is working.
Not sure if this is normal, but in Audacity in my audio setup, it has Microphone (Scarlett solo 4th Gen) listed in my recording device section. It doesn’t say RODE NT1 or anything. Not sure if that means anything.
When I click Microphone in my recording device section, I normally get an audacity error.
So… what’s the problem? Is it my mic? My Scarlett Solo 4th Gen? Or computer not recognizing? I just don’t know where to go from here. I’ve researched just about everything and tried it… but nothing. I’m hoping it’s something I’m not seeing and can be fixed. Any guidance would be helpful. I appreciate it.
