Hey, everyone, hope you’re all doing well. So, I’m on MacOS Monterey (12.5), and am currently using Audacity 3.2.2. I had a project open in Audacity, had several tracks recorded, and was recording a new track into it when my MacBook decided to give up. It likes to do this occasionally because the battery is garbage, but that’s neither here nor there. When I got it booted back up, and attempted to reopen the project, I received this message, which I’ve attached a screenshot of.
It has no issue opening up other projects, just this one. If anyone has any ideas, I’d really appreciate, the project is super valuable to me. I expect that the track I was in the middle of recording is probably gone, but I really hope I can get the other tracks back that were already done.
the battery is garbage, but that’s neither here nor there.
It’s here. You can’t have reliable production on an unstable machine. If Audacity crashed in the middle of file management, it’s a good chance that the work is gone.
Thank you so much for taking the time, I seriously appreciate it! Even if it ends up not working out, I really appreciate you at least taking the time to try.
I have sent you a PM with a link to a recovered file.
I was able to find a way to copy each individual track to a new project, which messed up the alignment, so you will have to repair that, but all of your audio should be present.
Oops! I was doing some project rate testing and I left the project rate on your project at 32000 instead of 44100, so please change it back (lower left-corner). This won’t affect your audio unless you create a new track. Also, double-check that Preferences > Quality is also 41000.
O M G, YES, it’s all there! I don’t know how you did it, but you did! Thank you SO much for taking the time to help me, you are AMAZING! :'D
(I would’ve just sent you a PM, but I’m a new member to the site, and it said I don’t have access to that yet. Which is totally fine, it worked out anyway. Seriously, I can’t thank you enough. )
