Just starting to use Audacity. It recognizes all 5 of my inputs (in WASAPI, Windows 11), but doesn’t record them, despite re-starting and re-scanning devices. All I get is a flat blue line. All the devices work through my Windows Device Manager, but not in Audacity.
Audacity DOES upload my MP3 files and plays/ edits them nicely; but I get nothing through my mics. What am I missing?
What I want to do is upgrade old pre-digital audio to MP3 files; but I do need to be able to “hear” them first in Audacity.
Check the recording volume slider which is now “hidden” under the recording level meter.
What? Where is it “hidden”? Thanks much Doug, but I’m not clear on what you mean. I see the recording level meter but what’s “under” it is the playback level meter and it’s in plain sight. I don’t find a slider there. And nothing seems to be hidden “behind” any of the moveable controls on the Audacity page. And in my version of Audacity, the recording level meter never lights up at all, even with input supposedly being wired in. Give me another tip please… Thx…
