Audacity on M1 Mac

When you use Audacity in Ubuntu there is a separate front end that you can use to select where you are recording from..ie, pick a browser by name… that was the only way I got Audacity to do screen recordings in MP3 in Ubuntu.. is there a similar thing for Mac M1 mini that will set me up to record Only from the browser I am using at the time…? I have another screen recorder called Piezo and it works well but I would like to be able to record with Audacity also..

Piezo is the way to go. Macs don’t natively allow recording of system sound, let alone the output of a specific program.

There is a system extension called Blackhole that will allow you to record system sound (what you hear from the speakers).

interesting…woe to Mac again and again..
