So I have looked through the forum, and I have tried everything, but my usb microphone does not show up as an option for audacity. I looked in the preferences and Audacity has access to record audio. And I tried reinstalling the application, but nothing has worked. I have a MacBook Pro on 10.15.7 with audacity 2.4.2. The MacBook recognizes the microphone, but audacity does not. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?
Your USB microphone must be connected to your computer before launching Audacity.
You should then be able to select it as the recording device in the Device Toolbar.
If you are still unable to record, ensure that Audacity has permission to access the mic in “System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Microphone”
I have had my usb mic plugged in the entire time. I have turned off my computer. And closed audacity all the way, and still nothing
