Audacity not finding the correct play or record devices?

I’m not able to tell audacity about the correct devices to use for either recording or playback?

[ Ubuntu 25.04, on aarch64, audacity 3.7.5]

Ubuntu’s Sound settings seem correct: (as a newby i can’t include this screenshot:(

And pulseaudio’s pavucontrol also shows the correct configuration (as a newby i can’t include this screenshot:(

and input (as a newby i can’t include this screenshot:(

But audacity Audio settings shows many alternatives for playback

but NOT the CM108 Audio controller that I want (and that VLC is
happily using).

but NOT the PCM2902 Audio Codec I need.

How can I configure audacity settings to attach to these devices? Thanks for any suggestions.

UPDATE: starting from scratch with Ubuntu 24.04 (vs.25.04), using latest/edge 3.7.6 snap, and sysdefault for recording and USB PnP SoundDevice: Audio (hw1,0) for playback, it works!
