Audacity Launch Problem

Audacity 2.1.0 was running when the hydro flinched. It shut down my computer. My Mac is using Yosemite 10.10.5.
When I started up again I couldn’t launch Audacity and got a message as follows:

AUDACITY IS ALREADY RUNNING
The system has detected that another copy of Audacity is running.
Running two copies of Audacity simultaneously may cause data loss or cause the system to crash. etc.

When searching for a resolution it was recommended that I download the latest version of Audacity, which I did, but to no avail. Please recommend solution.

Can you use some other words for “hydro flinched”? Do you mean the computer lost power? What model number of Mac is it? Does it use battery power?
