Hi, I’m new to Audacity and it has somehow double installed on my Mac - I have two of every file. But I can’t seem to drag & drop to Trash. I just get a message saying that the files can’t be deleted. Any ideas? I don’t want to take up precious space on my Mac! thanks v much
If Audacity is running, do Audacity > Quit Audacity.
If Audacity does not quit, do COMMAND + Option + ESC. In the Force Quit window that appears, select Audacity then click Force Quit.
Then Trash the Audacity folder(s) you copied. Then see here for how to install Audacity properly: Installation: Do NOT run Audacity from the DMG!!!!

You probably need to restart your Mac too, before you can delete. I suspect the files would be “in use”?
Well, not in my experience. Windows might be reluctant to release the handle on the file, perhaps.
