Audacity for Windows 7

I am new to this. I have Windows 7. I also have an Audio Technica AT-LP2D USB turntable. I wish to record LP record albums to CD’s. Please advise me as to how to procede.

Have you downloaded and installed Audacity 2.1.2?

Connect the turntable before starting Audacity and select the USB device as your Recording Device, and you should be good to go. (It may not show-up as “Audio Technica Turntable”, but it should show-up as “USB-something…”)

After recording go to File → Export, and export as 44.1kHz, 16-bit WAV.

You may want to normalize the volume, do some noise reduction, or EQ etc., before burning your CD.

Note that Audacity won’t burn CDs. You’ll need to use a different application for that.
