Hi,
I have just tried to open a project I was working on, and it is coming up with failed to read from file C. I have tried downloading the latest version of Audacity with no luck. Is there anyone at all who knows how I can recover this file?@evilmrb @jademan
Thanks,
Hi misss,
In the first instance, try following the steps here: GitHub - audacity/audacity-project-tools and see how you get on.
If it doesn’t work or you can’t figure it out, you can let me have a look.
Either upload your project to Google Drive or use SwissTransfer.com and post a shared link.

Hi, Thanks for the quick response. I tried following that with no success sadly.
Really appreciate it Mark, thanks.
So one thing that has sometimes worked for me with this issue is resaving/opening it from either my Google or my Microsoft drive. I go through my browser, access the file through my cloud storage, then (assuming it does work) once i get the project to open, i copy the project and paste it into a new template. Sometimes I’ve had better luck creating a sharable link through my Google drive and opening it via the link.
Good luck. This is a super frustrating issue. I will say that sometimes these files open later as if by some divine intervention.
