my audacity program doubles the audio sometimes now with the latest Audacity. I do not understand how I can prevent that.
Make sure you directly select the source (your laptop’s microphone, etc.). Don’t select “loopback” (and don’t select “Stereo Mix” or What-U-Hear" if you have those options).
Hello. I do not know what “stereo mix” or “what-U-hear” are. I should have explained. I read audio for Librivox & have used the Audacity program for many years now. The latest update does have me curious as to just what is going on with my audio being double now. Yes, I do think I didn’t “tick” a box that I should have somewhere. Thank you though for your reply.

Hello again
Now my audacity program is spot on again. I did look into the details and did notice a stereo box was ticked while it should not have been. Now I am a happy recorder once more.
