Hey forum users,
my problem is that audacity cuts my vocals when i dont want it.
i rap and do recordings of my voice. My problem is, that audacity records my voice normally with all the varieties in my voice for once. then at the next recording in the session it starts automatically cutting the highs away and compresses my voice in gerneral. I dont have any effects activated or anything.
My recording mic is the TBone USB 450.
I appreciate any help, thank you guys!

If you’re overdubbing (you didn’t say so) then you may have a common error where Audacity records the new track along with a copy of the old one instead of leaving it alone. Depending on the sound pathway, the first or backing track will sound like it’s slowly turn to trash—although the original track should still be there if you go looking for it. It’s actually only the new track which is damaged, and it’s the combination which sounds awful.
Look in Audacity preferences and make sure you’re recording from a microphone or some other hardware device you can touch, and not a software process such as the ones used in recording YouTube or other internet shows.
“Shure Audio Device” is a real thing I can reach over and touch. “Stereo Mix” is a software process used for streaming audio.

Make sure that Windows “enhancements” are turned off.

Audacity can’t apply effects in real-time or while recording, but Windows can.

NOTE - From you image it looks like you might be mixing. Mixing will increase the volume so there is a chance of clipping (distortion). One solution is to export as floating-point WAV (which can go over 0dB without clipping). Then re-import the stereo (or mono) mix and Normalize or Amplify* to bring your levels down before exporting to your desired final-format.
\
- Amplify will attenuate if you enter a negative amplification value and it will default to attenuation if the levels go over 0dB.
It seems to be the overdub problem. Any idea how to fix it?
When i turn off the overdub the new recording is clean. But to rap you need a beat atleast most of the time!
