Audacity Crashing when applying Macro/Chains.

Hi all!

I have Audacity 2.3.0 and it will shut down when applying chains/macro and I don’t know how to fix it. I tried removing it completely from my computer a few times and deleting accompanying libraries etc. but everything still happens repeatedly.

When I reinstall things I can’t seem to find any of the files that seem necessary like the audacity.cfg/xml and others as shown in the image below.

Any help is very much appreciated!

One specific macro or all macros?
If you make a new macro, does that trigger the crash?

It seems to be other macros as well.

Would deleting other macros help do you thik?

I haven’t created a new macro for a few weeks so I don’t think creating one is what causes the crash (as far as I can tell.)

This specifically happens when I try to apply a macro to a “large” audio selection of something more than 30 mins or so.

Thanks for your help!

It may be one of the commands in the macro that is causing the crash. What is in the macro?

Here’s what’s in the macro.

Thanks!

I presume that you know that Noise Reduction is a two pass effect, and that it does not currently support custom settings in Macros.

Try running each of the effects in turn manually to a long track and see if Audacity crashes. That may show where the problem lies.
I can’t reproduce the problem, but I’m on 64-bit Linux, so the problem may be specific to 32-bit Audacity on macOS.

Running Audacity 2.3.0 on macOS 10.13.4, I can’t reproduce the problem either.

While the macro is running you should see a progress dialog as each effect is run. Do you see those or does the macro crash immediately?
